📌 Program Overview:
The ACTI Stand-Up Forklift Training Program is designed to equip operators with the essential knowledge and practical skills to safely operate, inspect, and maintain a stand-up counterbalance forklift. This program ensures compliance with OH&S regulations, CSA standards (B335), and best practices in material handling operations across industrial and warehouse environments.
Participants will learn to perform pre-use inspections, navigate tight spaces, handle loads safely, and recognize potential hazards unique to stand-up forklifts. Emphasis is placed on stability principles, visibility, maneuvering in high-traffic areas, and emergency response procedures.
📌 Key Learning Modules:
- Legislation, Standards & Responsibilities: Overview of OH&S legislation, CSA B335 standards, and employer/operator responsibilities.
- Stand-Up Forklift Anatomy: Identifying components such as the mast, carriage, forks, controls, overhead guard, and power systems.
- Pre-Use Inspection Procedures: Conducting daily checks for tire condition, hydraulics, controls, brakes, and warning devices.
- Safe Operating Practices: Maneuvering in reverse, navigating tight aisles, maintaining visibility, and avoiding pedestrian collisions.
- Stability & Load Handling: Understanding the stability triangle, center of gravity, and how to prevent tip-overs when handling different load types.
- Hazard Awareness & Risk Control: Identifying workplace hazards like inclines, ramps, cluttered aisles, and blind spots. Applying safe travel speeds and horn usage protocols.
- Emergency Procedures: Response to equipment malfunctions, blocked exits, low visibility zones, and emergency shutdown procedures.
✅ Upon Completion:
- ✅ Understand and apply OH&S and CSA forklift standards.
- ✅ Identify forklift components and perform pre-use inspections.
- ✅ Operate a stand-up forklift safely in industrial and warehouse environments.
- ✅ Handle loads and navigate tight spaces while maintaining stability and control.
- ✅ Mitigate common hazards through awareness and best practices.
- ✅ Respond effectively to emergencies and operational issues.
- ✅ Pass written and practical evaluations to demonstrate competence.
Participants who complete all training requirements will receive the ACTI Stand-Up Forklift Operator Certification, recognized across Canada and valid in warehousing, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.
